Pastor Vassie Gorham Barrett is a wife, mother, encourager, sister, friend, intercessor, writer, and Minister of the Gospel who has served in ministry for over 28 years.

She currently serves as Associate Pastor of Lion of Judah Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Branch and Pastor Dawn Harmony Branch.

Pastor Vassie is a native of Bertie County and was born and raised in Roxobel, North Carolina. She is a 1983 graduate of Bertie Senior High School in Windsor, North Carolina, and a 2021 graduate of Pitt Community College, where she earned a degree in Business Administration.

Pastor Vassie received and accepted the call into ministry in 1998. Throughout her years of ministry, she has remained committed to serving God and His people through prayer, encouragement, and the ministry of the Word.

She is a witness to the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God, having witnessed the healing of her sister from lupus and her son from a heart condition. These testimonies have strengthened her faith and deepened her passion for prayer and intercession.

Pastor Vassie is married to Edward Barrett, and together they have three sons, Isaac, Samuel, and David.

She believes that her greatest ministry is to her husband and family, while also using everything God has invested in her to make a difference in the lives of others. Her life and ministry are devoted to encouraging others, standing in the gap through prayer, and helping people recognize the power of God at work in their lives.
